February 3, 2024 7:00-11:00PM Flora & Fauna: A Celebration of Afro History Month

Tickets $20 online, $25 at the door.
FLORA & FAUNA Is a multicultural immersive experience that combines music, art, spoken word, and sound healing to celebrate Afro History Month. This exhibition is a sociological commentary on Afro Empowerment, Social Justice, women’s empowerment, and worldly happenings in the Afro Communities. The title “Flora and Fauna’ refers to the nature of perceiving humans as plants & animals and the unique beauties they offer to the world through their talents when they bloom. We will have food, music, live model painting, Adinkra tattoos, and vendors with art, jewelry, skincare, and sundries.
Overall, the ‘Flora & Fauna’ exhibition invites the viewer on an introspective & celebratory journey of their life sequences and asks them to consider a more conscious connection to the self, plants, animals, and the world they live in.

The term ‘Afro’ as used in Flora & Fauna is an umbrella term coined by African Artist & Curator UNAPXLXGETIC as a means to unite people of all African descendants who are scattered around the globe due to the African diaspora. This is not a term used as a replacement for ‘Blacks’ but a uniting term that pays homage to the African Culture and Heritage that we all share… Feel free to reach out to UNAPXLXGETIC directly to learn more www.unadesign.co/contact

City Winery Philadelphia Presents Los Rolling Ruanas & Caravanchela live on February 2nd at 7:30pm

Based in the buzzing and exciting city of Bogotá, Colombia. Los Rolling Ruanas started in 2014 with Juan Diego Moreno (vocals and Guacharaca), Fernando Cely (Requinto), Luis Guillermo González (Guitar) and Jorge Mario Vinasco (Tiple).

During their first year, they decided to upload singular versions of The Beatles, Kiss and The Rolling Stones in their unique style to YouTube - not knowing that they would become a viral phenomenon in late 2015.

YouTube served as a platform to make their first EP of original songs in 2016. In 2017, they released their first LP feature entitled 'La balada del carranguero'.

Caravanchela is a Colombian band with alternative pop and funk sounds - naming them 'Funky Feeling' with which you're definitely gonna dance. Two studio albums and an EP have them touring in México, US, Costa Rica and Colombia in important festivals such as Summerfest, Rock Al Parque and SXSW. In 2024 they're presenting their third album and will be touring in Mexico, Colombia and the US.
