De Tierra Caliente

De Tierra Caliente is a Latin party band whose music fills the air with bright colors and gets everybody up and dancing. Catchy melodies and unaffected lyrics fuse with Latin, Caribbean and Brazilian rhythms to inspire an irresistible North/South American party.

Since its formation in 2014, this flavorful band from Philadelphia has released 2 full-length albums and played hundreds of shows throughout the US, Colombia, Brazil and Puerto Rico.

De Tierra Caliente delivers the sabor, spice and alegría of warm-weather countries to American audiences, where formidable winters and nose-to-the-grindstone work ethic sometimes overshadow simple pleasures like sharing a meal with friends or going out dancing. At a show you can't help but heat up as intoxicating songs in Spanish, English and Portuguese sing out the bright colors and familial warmth of a South American kitchen.

November 16, 2021 8:30PM World Cafe Live and Afrotaino Productions present ÌFÉ

Founded by Puerto Rico based African American producer and percussionist Otura Mun, ÌFÉ is a futuristic live electronic music project blending elements of Afro-Cuban folklore and Yoruban religious music with the bass driven sounds of modern day Jamaican Dancehall, Trap and Afro-Beat. The single most important electronic act in Afro-Caribbean music, ÌFÉ’s 2017 debut album “IIII+IIII'' revolutionized the way electronic music was conceived and performed, seamlessly combining the intricacies of Afro-Caribbean percussion and song with the power of modern electronica played in real time, no DJ’s, no programming, totally freed from the grid. A groundbreaking reimagination of ancient diaspora music and movement, ÌFÉ’s music explores the higher frequencies while paying keen attention to the lower ones in a way that feels equal parts riot and ritual. Their highly anticipated sophomore album is slated for release in Fall of 2020.

COVID INFORMATION: Until further notice, all guests will be required to show proof of full COVID-19 vaccination for entry to World Cafe Live. Masks must be worn by all attendees at all times except when eating or drinking. By purchasing tickets, you acknowledge that everyone in your party will follow any regulations in place at time of show (subject to change), and will not be entitled to a refund for noncompliance. Please check here for current venue protocol.
