August 20, 2025 7:00-9:00PM Bethlehem and Sad Patrick at Char & Stave

Join us for coffee, cocktails, and some new tunes at one of our favorite spots.

From the Philadelphia Inquirer:

"The folk-jazz duo of Bethlehem & Sad Patrick are one of the Philly music scene’s under-appreciated treasures. Bethlehem Roberson is a skilled, subtly emotive vocalist who met guitarist Patrick Arkins when the guitarist was hosting an open mic at a cafe in Germantown. Their 2023 album, This Is What We Do, is a minimalist delight, displaying Roberson’s impeccable timing as a vocalist on top-notch Arkins originals like “Because It Rhymes with Sin” and “Starving Kind of Love,” as well as an arresting cover of “House of the Rising Sun.” (Dan DeLuca)"

August 15, 2025 6:30-7:30PM Las Mariposas Galácticas at Eakins Oval

This free performance is part of Parkway Presents and is sponsored by the Parkway Council as part of The Oval 2025. Presented in collaboration with Parkway Presents.
Las Mariposas Galácticas:
Las Mariposas Galácticas is a 8-piece Cumbia Klezmer Punk band based in Philadelphia. Drawing on the members’ South American and Jewish roots, the band creates a unique diasporic sound that gets audiences dancing with rebellious joy. Honoring their Indigenous Andean musical ancestries and blending it with punkified ancient Jewish melodies, they perform a mix of original compositions and classic tunes that span languages, cultures, and genres. Las Mariposas have toured the East Coast and collaborated with international acts such as the legendary Argentinian Tropi-punk band Kumbia Queers and the renowned Indigenous Mexican rock band Los Cogelones. They’ve headlined the L.A.T.I.N. PunkFest in both Philadelphia and New York City, and continue to support their communities’ struggles for liberation—from prominent stages to cultural, activist, and grassroots community spaces.
The Parkway Council , a not-for-profit organization, works to accelerate the transformation of Philadelphia’s Benjamin Franklin Parkway into a great urban park for all.
Additional information about the Oval:
The Oval pop-up festival returns to the Benjamin Franklin Parkway this July and runs for seven weekends. The family-friendly event features eight acres of food, drink, public art, games, and entertainment. The fun takes place at Eakins Oval, across from the Philadelphia Museum of Art’s famous steps. The 2025 Oval is co-organized by Philadelphia Parks and Recreation and the Parkway Council.
Eakins Oval is a traffic circle in Philadelphia. It forms the northwest end of the Benjamin Franklin Parkway just in front of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, with a central array of fountains and monuments, and a network of pedestrian walkways.
