The Mambo Legends Orchestra is committed to keeping the sounds of the great Afro Cuban bandleaders Machito, Tito Puente, and Tito Rodriguez alive for future generations. Comprised of several former members of these legendary orchestras, The Mambo Legends provide a link to the golden era of music in New York in the early 1940s, when the Machito Orchestra fused the big-band sound of popular music with the rhythms of Africa, Cuba, and Puerto Rico to create an enduring musical genre beloved around the world.

A North Philly holiday tradition! Don’t miss this evening of festive music and community with villancicos, aguinaldos, and other Puerto Rican traditional songs, performed by members of AMLA and other musical guests.

Join us for an evening of joyous music, community, and holiday spirit! Let’s come together to celebrate the season with festive sounds and Caribbean flair. Special performances by our house band, led by Jorge Burgos Sr. & Jr. Sing-along of Puerto Rican Villancicos & Aguinaldos. Admission is FREE.

Each week, ten musicians arrive at a former South Philadelphia funeral home where, one by one, they unload their old tube amps and vintage gear. Once inside, the classic sounds of the 1960s are reinvigorated, re-energized and reborn. Legends, like Stevie, Aretha and the Four Tops; lesser-known artists including Donny Hathaway, Arthur Conley and Betty Everett – all are given new life.

From their early years packing tiny South Street bars to repeated sell outs of World Cafe Live, YSH’s repertoire now spans nearly 1oo songs. This is not your typical Motown wedding band. With grit, sweat, and attention to detail, The York Street Hustle is the Northeast’s premier 10-piece 1960s soul and Motown tribute.

Conjunto Philadelphia is a musical ensemble based in the Philadelphia area performing the music of Pre-Revolutionary Cuba. The group’s main aspiration is to maintain the authenticity of the music while performing it in a way that pays homage to Cuba’s deep and treasured musical history. Genres include Son, Cha-Cha-Chá and Bolero.
Conjunto has performed at Philadelphia Museum of Art, Longwood Gardens, Chris’ Jazz Café, Penn Museum, World Café Live!, Exit Zero Jazz Festival, Ardmore Music Hall, educational presentations, and numerous private events.
