Youba Cissokho, Aba Diop, and Jason Hosier come together to share the joy, depth, and ancient rhythms of West African music with audiences around the globe. Their collaboration bridges continents and generations, offering a cross-cultural mix rooted in the rich griot traditions of Senegal and infused with fresh, contemporary energy. Youba, a master of the 21-stringed kora, carries forward his family’s musical legacy, guided by his father, legendary saxophonist Issa Cissokho. Aba, a griot on both sides of his lineage, channels the power of the sabar drum through jazz, rock, and Sufi mysticism, having performed with artists such as Yo-Yo Ma and Youssou N’Dour. Guitarist Jason Hosier adds lyrical, jazz-tinged melodies that spark a new musical conversation, blending seamlessly with the rhythms and strings. Together, they weave rhythm, melody, and tradition into a sound that is both rooted and expansive—an invitation into an unforgettable musical journey.
