Spoken Hand Percussion Orchestra

15th Anniversary Celebration

If you’re a fan of the Bride or an avid arts supporter within the region, you’re no stranger to Spoken Hand and its unmistakable, undeniable, unwavering heartbeat. Since its inception fifteen years ago, this uniquely robust orchestra of percussionists has traveled the road on a journey to explore the new compositional possibilities in world music by fusing four percussion batteries into one distinct voice: North Indian tabla, Afro Cuban bata, Brazilian samba and West African djembe. Known for its high-energy live performances, audiences are literally swept up and away from their seats to travel to four corners of the globe. The sheer sonic force has shaken the foundation of countless houses and concert halls, leaving audiences in awe each time. The ensemble’s explosive energy, artistic authenticity and refreshing compositional sensibility has earned Spoken Hand critical acclaim, awards and performance invitations both regionally and nationally. Spoken Hand returns home to the Bride to celebrate its 15th anniversary and to share new and exciting compositional works. Spoken Hand promises to deliver a dynamic display filled with progressive human spirit and creative imagination. A three performance run, this engagement is certainly one not to be missed.
