September 19, 2013 6:00-10:30 PM Mt. Airy Street Fare with Live Music

Mt. Airy's fabulous food-centric evening street festival takes place on Thursday, September 19th! From 6:00-10:30, Sip delicious beverages, Savor amazing food from the City's best gourmet food vendors and local restaurants, and Stroll along historic Germantown Avenue (between Sedgwick Street and Mt. Airy Avenue).
This year's entertainment will be spread out throughout the festival. Two stages will be showcasing multiple acts all night long. Here's a look at our performers:

Stage 1

6:00 p.m. - Grammy Nominated Sharon Katz & The Peace Train: The multicultural South African band helped Nelson Mandela end Apartheid and have countinued spreading thier message of peace reconciliation through performances around the world. Sharon Katz & The Peace Train is made up of Sharon Katz on the guitar and vocal, Wedny Quick on dance and vocals, Charles Beasley on the bass, Mark Beecher on the drums, Jared Jackson on the sax and Barry Sames on the keyboards. 7:15 - Lisa Chavous and The Second Line: Lisa Chavous and The Second Line are a band with the best of the Philadelphia music scenes devotees to the songs of New Orleans, Blues, and Reggae. The band is fronted my powerhousevocalist Lisa Chavous of Lisa Chavous and the Blues Messanger. Lisa is joined by bassist Bert Harris of Philly Gumbo, New Orleans funk, blues, and reggae dance ban, and RK$DTY a traditional ska band.The band is known for irresistable grooves with Lisa wailing on top, non stop fun and dancing.
