Rafiya (Congo)
Rafiya first gained international attention in 2009 upon the release of her “Amazing” debut album. She has recorded and performed internationally and domestically with some of Africa’s most popular artists. Rafiya was born in Los Angeles to Congolese parents, and grew up across West Africa and the Carribean. She writes and sings about the human experience in English, French and Lingala, but regardless of your native tongue, her passion translates itself in the melody. Parlez-vous Rafiya?
Ayoinmotion (Nigeria)
Ayoinmotion is a Nigerian born, American bred musician and poet with an undeniable sound/aesthetic. He's performs live with a band and dual dancers. Unable to conform to attempts to limit his multi-genred exquisite sound which blends influences of Afro-Pop from his Nigerian roots with hip-hop, house, r&b/neo-soul, and other musical influences.
Rotimi & The Afrophonik Crew (Nigeria)
A world music artist, a true African ambassador and cultural reprisentative, Rotimi is an accomplished musicologist, performer, teacher and songwriter, who plays the trumpet, flugel horn, saxophone, keyboards and African drums to express his brand of world music which he has styled AFROPHONIK RHYTHMS.
Just Greg
"Just Greg" Corbin is a poet, writer, teacher, hip hop artist and has performed across the U.S., and internationally in South Africa, England and Canada. In 2006, he founded the Philadelphia Youth Poetry Movement which has been featured on the HBO program, "Brave New Voices".
