Join Macy's and the African American Museum in Philadelphia for a family fun-filled day. Experience the love that has allowed black people to endure and inspire them to retell stories and create artworks that celebrate their triumphs.
Macy's Family Fun Day highlights include:
Hip Hop Musicology performance with Ali Richardson at 11 am sponsored by PNC Bank.
Photographic collage and printmaking with Tanya Murphy in AAMP's Loving Your Neighborhood Mixed-Media and a photography workshop beginning at 12 pm.
Remember Your Rainbow workshop: fill a jar with items that represent you (your rainbow) as an expression of self-love at 3 pm. Created by our Curator of Education, Stephanie Cunningham.
Macy's Family Fun Day guests can also take a self-guided tour of our core exhibition, Audacious Freedom: African American's in Philadelphia. Also, be sure to check out our latest special exhibitions Dawoud Bey, Harlem USA and Shawn Theodore: Church of Broken Pieces. Together, these two moving photography exhibits explore the depth and beauty of historically African American neighborhoods.
Thanks to the generosity of Macy's, the first 250 people to register online will receive free entry to the Museum for this family fun day! Tickets are limited so reserve your spot early!
