Join us for a FREE outdoor party in the Bartram’s Garden Orchard, home to 136 tree species, as we gather around the fire and celebrate these last weeks of winter. Bring a drum, if you like, and join an interactive performance by Drum Like A Lady. Stay for Orchestra 2001’s moonlit performance of “Drums of Winter” by Pulitzer Prize-winning composer John Luther Adams. Hot chocolate, hot booze and roasting-ready snacks will be available for free while supplies last. Let’s toast to the trees as the drums boom and the sparks float up into the night sky! 5pm-7:30pm: Free drinks and fire-roasted snacks while supplies last. 5:30pm: Drum Like Lady performs and leads participatory fireside drumming! 7pm: Orchestra 2001 performs “Drums of Winter” by John Luther Adams! Enter at Bartram’s Garden main entrance at 5400 Lindbergh Boulevard and follow the glowing orbs to the Bartram Orchard, which is a part of the Sankofa Community Farm at Bartram's Garden. This is an all ages event, accessible by wheelchair. Please dress for the weather and prepare for potentially muddy conditions, depending on the weather. |
