The American Women’s Heritage Society is excited to present the first ever “Live! from The Belmont Mansion” event. Please join us for our first event in this series:
KWANZAA @ SUNSET
featuring
Sisters Laying Down Hands Collective led by Artistic Director Karen L. Smith
On Tuesday, December 29th, we will bring this cultural tradition of Kwanzaa to life at The Historic Belmont Mansion and Underground Railroad Museum in Philadelphia.
Following a live sunset tour of these historic grounds, atop the Belmont Plateau overlooking the Philadelphia skyline at sunset, the Sisters Laying Hands Collective will lead this highly entertaining Kwanzaa celebration from inside the Underground Railroad Museum.
Be ready to sing, dance, and drum along throughout this live storytelling, drumming and dance event. The perfect holiday activity for the whole family!
Registrants will receive Kwanzaa worksheets, book lists and other recommendations to bring this virtual educational experience into your home. All information including the Zoom link will be shared 2 hours before the event begins.
This is a donation-based event. The suggested donation is $20 per family, no amount is too small and all donations are appreciated.
Any size contribution helps support this cultural and educational institution continue its work to keep the legacy of African-American history alive.
Thank you for joining us and Happy Holidays!
