Ultra Silk Gallery will host a special program to celebrate Juneteenth, a holiday celebrated to commemorate the emancipation of enslaved people in the US. Featuring Sistahs Laying Down Hands & Youba Cissokho.
Sistahs Laying Down Hands kicks off its Pre-Juneteenth celebration with the arts and cultural rites that will facilitate healing and celebrate heritage & freedom through ritual, song, and dance. Also enjoy an astonishing performance by Master Kora Player Youba Cissokho .
Attendees can catch Ultra Silk Gallery's “Joyful New Beginnings” Art Exhibition ft. Betty Leacraft , Asake Denise Jones , Akilah t'Zuberi & The Silk Tent which traces the contributions of people of African descent from the 1900s to present day.
