February 7, 2026 7:00PM Step Afrika! at the Miller Theater

Step Afrika! blends percussive dance styles practiced by historically African American fraternities and sororities; traditional African dances; and an array of contemporary dance and art forms into a cohesive, compelling artistic experience. Performances are much more than dance shows; they integrate songs, storytelling, humor, and audience participation. The blend of technique, agility, and pure energy makes each performance unique and leaves the audience with their hearts pounding!

The world's leading authority on the art form of stepping, Step Afrika! is critically-acclaimed for its efforts to promote an understanding of the appreciation for stepping and the dance tradition's use as an educational tool for young people worldwide.  In stepping, the body is used as an instrument to create intricate rhythms and sounds through a combination of footsteps, claps, and spoken word.  Step Afrika! has taken this art to new heights, using intricate footwork, synchronized movements, and percussion to create a mesmerizing spectacle.
