July 20, 2024 7:30-10:30PM Tracks at the Vale: Clover & Sundream, Mariana Bruekers, and Ryan Tennis

Please join us for a beautiful evening of music on Saturday, July 20th at the Vale, a pluricultural hideaway in Mt. Airy, Philadelphia!
DOORS: 7:00pm, Music at 7:30pm, hard stop at 10:30pm.
ENTRANCE: $20 (To reserve your spot, Venmo @ryantennismusic, PayPal ryantennismusic@gmail.com, or zelle @rytennis59@gmail.com)
------
Headling the show will be Clover & Sundream (a trio), who blew me away at a festival this spring with their pure soul, deep groove, and moving original songs. Here's some more about them:
CLOVER & SUNDREAM mix sultry soul, sweet harmony, and bop-your-head grooves for a musical elixir that goes down smooth. Inspired by legends like Carole King and The Beatles alongside contemporaries like Maggie Rogers and Mac DeMarco, they have a timeless sound that weaves storytelling with catchy melodies. Their songs touch on freedom of expression, love, grief, and the celebration of the full human experience - its peaks and its valleys.
Opening the night will be an artist from Brazil who wowed me at a show in Colombia last December, MARIANA BRUEKERS. A classically trained flautist, guitar player, and singer, Mariana has been touring the world over the last year offering her engaging show and Brazilian music workshops with over 70 shows in 17 countries. She is a professor of music, has published a book on children's music education, and has an absolutely magnetic energy. You won't want to miss her!
I (Ryan Tennis) will host the show and perform a couple tunes of my own throughout the night.
Drinks and light snacks will be provided, and we’ll be asking for a $20 at the door. Space will be limited, so if you’re interested in reserving a spot, DM me here and Venmo $20 to @ryantennismusic or PayPal to ryantennismusic@gmail.com.

July 19, 2024 8:00PM Brandee Younger with Ernest Stuart Trio at Ardmore Music Hall

The sonically innovative harpist, Brandee Younger, is revolutionizing harp for the digital era. Over the past fifteen years, she has worked relentlessly to stretch boundaries and limitations for harpists. In 2022, she made history by becoming the first black woman to be nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Instrumental Composition. That same year, she was also nominated for an NAACP Image Award. Ever-expanding as an artist, she has worked with cultural icons including Common, Lauryn Hill, John Legend, and Moses Sumney. Her current album, Brand New Life, builds on her already rich oeuvre, and cements the harp’s place in pop culture. As the title of the album suggests, Brand New Life is about forging new paths–artistic, personal, political, and spiritual. On this album, Younger salutes her musical foremother, the trailblazing harpist Dorothy Ashby, while also speaking to the sentiments of more recent generations. “We're bringing new life to Dorothy Ashby’s popular and previously unreleased compositions. We're creating new life...for the instrument,” Younger said. Brand New Life is an album about living fully, in neon bright color.
