Join us as Philly's hottest musicians revisit the classic jam session on the Plaza Stage! This month's host is Pablo Batista. A Temple University grad, Batista has been a percussionist for over 31 years. In 2000, he was the recipient of the distinguished Pew Fellowship Award in Folk Art. He also toured and recorded with the late Grover Washington, Jr. and Alicia Keys. He has been teaching percussion for the Latin American Music Association (AMLA) for over 15 years and has performed and recorded with such artist as: Bono, Jeffrey Osborne, Teddy Pendergrass, Eddie Palmieri, Manny Oquendo Conjunto Libre, and the Philadelphia Orchestra.
Sittin' In is back by popular demand. Come groove in Commonwealth Plaza to an eclectic mix of horns, vinyl, and vocals. Each month we'll bring you a different session featuring a special guest host, alongside their band of choice, plus DJ sets by Philly's own DJ PHSH. The first set will feature the hottest up and coming young performers on the scene, followed by a jam session showcasing the host and selected talent from near and far.
