The Peace Train 20th Anniversary
Kickoff Concert:
Tin Angel - Dec. 14, 7:30pm
20 years ago, The Peace Train performing group was formed in South Africa to help Nelson Mandela end apartheid and promote the country's first democratic elections.
It started as a 500-voice, multiracial choir backed by Sharon's 10-piece band - a first in South Africa! Traveling by train around the country and performing at each stop, it became a moving billboard for Mandela's vision of the new South Africa.
As we prepare for the 20th anniversary of that ride to freedom, peace, truth & reconciliation, we're doing a special kickoff concert in Philadelphia at Tin Angel, 20 S. 2nd St.
Get the best reserved seats for the concert by having dinner at Serrano's Restaurant on the 1st floor.
