From AfroTaino Productions:
"Plucking her custom-built charango, Latina folk-rocker Gina Chavez is heralded as the Joni Mitchell of Latin music. Her newest album, “Up.Rooted” - produced by Michael Ramos (Ry Cooder, John Mellencamp, Charanga Cakewalk), and featuring guest appearances by Grupo Fantasma, among others - debuted at #2 on Amazon’s new music charts upon release in February 2014. Gina Chavez delivers a very soulful, sincere vibe in her live performances, easily sweeping into international musical waters with touches of bossa nova, cumbia, arabic, and even big ballad melodies. Rosa Diaz's music could be classified as indie or alternative, but the truth of her style resists labels. Featuring elements of campfire love ballads, shoegaze pop, and folkloric latin genres, her style allows her unique vocals to range from soaring harmonies reminiscent of soothing church hymns to hypnotic siren wails. With insider comparisons to folk-rock pioneers such as The Cocteau Twins & Aimee Mann, Rosa Diaz is poised to explode in the global folk music arena. Both of these phenomenal acts are cherished by National Public Radio (NPR), and are guaranteed to win over your hearts as well. Luckily we’re giving you two chances to be musically wooed, in New York City and Philadelphia. Don't fight the feeling!"
