From AfroTaino Productions: "The spirit of Africa is alive and well in Philadelphia! The long-running ART AFTER 5 entertainment series, in collaboration with AfroTaino Productions, presents a special evening of music, dance, and culture. On Friday, October 17th, everyone is invited to move to the sounds of Philly’s leading world music selector, DJ Rahsaan, for a very special AfroPop dance party, as he plays the beats & melodies of African nightlife. Following his set, a very special appearance by Ugandan folkpop sensation, Kinobe & The Maru Spirit. Kinobe is a gifted multi-instrumentalist whose talents have landed him on stage playing alongside African music legends like Youssou N’Dour, Salif Keita, Toumani Diabate, Oliver Mtukudzi, Baaba Maal, and Angelique Kidjo, to name a few. His world-roots-dance sound is unique & original, and guarantees to bring you to your feet.
Bring a hand towel and a pair of comfortable dancing shoes – you’ve been warned!"
