An Evening of Flamenco will mirror the recently completed and extremely successful TABLAO PHILLY series, which ran October 2015-June 2016 at the Asian Arts Initiative in downtown Philadelphia. Like those performances, this special evening of flamenco will recreate the intimate cafe-like atmosphere, called tablao, where flamencos showcased their dancing before the art form was institutionalized into more theatrical performances. The performance will feature vocalists Barbara Martinez and Hector Marquez, guitarist Raphael Brunn and dancers Xianix Barrera, Alexa Milton and Amelia Hernandez.
An Evening of Flamenco will also include excerpts from an as of yet unnamed work-in-progress by Pasión y Arte Artistic and Executive Director, Elba Hevia y Vaca inspired by her collaboration with renowned modern dance choreographer Susan Rethorst.
Tickets are $25 general admission and $22 for students and seniors and can be purchased at www.worldcafelive.com. Food and beverage will available for purchase during the performance.
