Grup de Danses L’Olivar formed in 1996 in Alaquas, Valencia, Spain, to play, sing and dance to the music of its ancestors. Singing in original language, the group has performed in Valencia, Madrid, Barcelona, Extremadura, and Toledo, Spain, and internationally in France, Italy, Germany, Belgium, Holland, and now in the United States.
As part of a cultural outreach program, the group will share their joyous music, traditional dances and the silk, flowers, and delicate laces of their costumes with the Philadelphia community, at Taller Puertorriqueño’s new home, El Corazón Cultural Center.
