“Because, being black is a beautiful thang…”

Inspired by the artistic spirit and salons of the Harlem Renaissance, "A Beautiful Thang" brings together some of the city’s most exciting jazz and performance artists on one stage, for one night only.

Anchored by jazz vocalist and pianist V. Shayne Frederick, and backed by an incredible house band, the February 23 show features performances by renown Philadelphia jazz vocalist Ella Gahnt, poet and actress Nikki Powerhouse, and poet Kirwyn Sutherland. The "A Beautiful Thang" house band includes Kendrah Butler-Waters (piano), Khary Abdul-Shaheed (percussion), Kayla Brewer (saxophone) and Nimrod Speaks (bass).

Don’t wait. Grab your tickets to "A Beautiful Thang" now! All are welcomed.
