It’s the first Sunday of the month, which means free admission at the Barnes!
This August, we’re partnering with the Steve Weiss Mallet Festival to celebrate the power of global rhythms and beats. See percussion performances, find stories of music and melodies in our galleries, and learn more with our fun family activities. Enjoy free access to the collection galleries and our special exhibition, William Edmondson: A Monumental Vision.
Registration opens Thursday, August 3, at 10am.
Activities include:
10 am – 4 pm | Art Activities | ages 2+

10:30 – 11 am + 11:15 – 11:45 am | Storytime | ages 2+
This month’s theme is all about music and percussion!
12:30 – 1:15 pm + 2:30 – 3:15 pm | Percussion Performances
The Steve Weiss Mallet Festival brings lively vibraphone and marimba performances, in collaboration with Settlement Music School. This jam session features percussionists from across Philadelphia and beyond.
