Logan Square’s own Raul y su ClaveAche is a Cuban music powerhouse created by Raul Cisneros, a much acclaimed British-Cuban percussionist, producer, director, and songwriter. The band is known for its authentic Cuban sounds and energetic performances of traditional melodies and original compositions by Cisneros.

Parking for this event is limited, but additional parking is conveniently located across the street at the Triangle Parking Lot, courtesy of Abington Friends School, on the corner of Meetinghouse and Jenkintown Rd.
Weather These events are rain or shine! Our concerts will go on in light rain and will only be cancelled in the event of hazardous weather. Weather related cancellations will be made 24 hours in advance. All other weather updates will be posted as needed, so check back often!
Join us for a lively concert with Philadelphia-based world music ensemble Jaffna! Jaffana combines instrumentation and influences from the Middle East, India, and anywhere else that inspires them. With roots in the early-1990s, the group maintains its distinct style with original compositions and improvisations which stretch the boundaries of their respective cultures. In July, WE JAM! Our outdoor summer concert series returns as Garden Jams, a low-key, high-chill, al fresco scene in Stoner Courtyard at the rose-gold hour. Unwind to world music by local Philly bands. Grab small bites and sips from food trucks and a garden bar fully stocked with wine, beer, and non-alcoholic refreshments.
Hennessey Bonfire is the world pop project of songwriter and percussionist Shawn Hennessey (Leana Song). Their debut "Let's Get Carried Away" is a prophetic melting-pot of honest songs, world percussion, luscious harmonies, and gang vocals. The tunes are both epic and personal, simple and deep, contemplative and full of love. The band features both ancient and futurist sounds with instrumentation from Shawn Hennessey (nylon guitar), Dijon (tabla), Wesley Rast (cajon drum set), Elliot Garland (electric bass), and Tom Spiker (electric guitar). Rooted in African, Mediterranean, Cuban, and Indian grooves, Hennessey Bonfire delivers intimate performances of lush, organic music, while keeping songwriting and soulful delivery at the helm.

Enjoy an evening of art, live music, cocktails, and light fare at our monthly First Friday mixer. Tonight’s program features two sets by Philly singer-songwriter Solomon Temple. Temple’s distinctive sound blends gospel, jazz, and soul, and draws inspiration from icons like Sam Cooke, Aretha Franklin, and Nina Simone. Temple has collaborated with area talents including Omar’s Hat and Ursula Rucker and founded Songs for the Soul, a performance series created to heal, uplift, and edify through music, art, and culture.

West Philadelphia Orchestra (WPO) is a brass band inspired by the Romani brass “orkestars” and “fanfares” of Eastern Europe. Known for stellar musicianship and dynamic live shows, the band’s sound is large, loud, and extremely danceable. WPO began as a village band for their neighborhood in 2006, performing at parks, rocking street festivals, and collaborating with community theaters. Their albums WPO in 2008, Live at Tritone in 2012, and Tour de Filli in 2016 are available on Bandcamp.com and streaming platforms.

The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (PAFA) and the African American Museum in Philadelphia (AAMP) are proud to partner with The Mann Center for the Performing Arts to bring you the special performance “YOUBA” in honor of welcoming the “Rising Sun” chair from PAFA to AAMP. The program will feature remarks from our Vice President of Curatorial, Dejay B. Duckett with a performance to follow immediately.
"Youba": is a fusion band that mixes traditional Senegalese songs and artistry with Afro-American Funk Worldbeat and R and B. At the core of the music is the "Kora", aka the ancestor to the guitar and string music, which originates in Senegal. Youba Cisko, who is born in Senegal brings his over 72 generations of family Kora playing and singing to the band. The band also includes traditional Giniene West African percussion (Saantis Davis), drums (Najashi Rasheed), base (Ali Richardson), and guitar (MJ).
