Café under the Stars: Spotlighting Arts in the Barrio (Café), is a series of 6 monthly outdoor, live, innovative, performances (April to October, 2012) in the Heart of Latino Philadelphia at the site of Taller Puertorriqueño’s (Taller) future $10 million state of the art facility. 20 Café Under the Stars opens with Los Pleneros de la 21, an outstanding group of masters at their peak that infuse traditional bomba and plena, the heartbeat of Afro-Puerto Rican music, with contemporary influences such as jazz, salsa, and rap.
