Solstice in the City is here—kick off your summer at the Kimmel Center with a night of drinks, music, and spectacle! Solstice in the City is HERE! Kick off your summer at the Kimmel Center with a night of drinks, music, and spectacle! Philly hometown favorite DJ MR BEST will transform Commonwealth Plaza into a late-night dance party beneath the soaring glass roof. Kick back with Foosball, Skeeball, Ping Pong, and Hammocks at the Solstice Lounge. Head into Verizon Hall for performances by garage punk superwomen Drew Citron and Frankie Rose—aka Beverly, acclaimed experimental wunderkind San Fermin, and headliner Real Estate, described by Pitchfork as "a rock band several lengths ahead of the fuzzy beach bums with which they pine." An ideal blend of breezy relaxation and suburban melancholy evocative of Yo La Tengo and the Feelies, these indie rock veterans promise to deliver a sublime evening.

Visit our intimate Jazz Lounge to hear world-premiere work by our Jazz Residency Artists, workshopped throughout our season. The night ends with some percussive insanity courtesy of French provocateurs La Compagnie du Transe Express, who wowed hundreds of thousands of onlookers during the PIFA Street Fair in 2011.
