Art and Social justice have been inextricably linked in our country The United States of America. The artists be it a writer, painter, poet, musician can be a mirror or a window for an audience, they can be a soothing voice or a harsh reminder, they inspire others to action and they will inspire an audience to unite in peace. Musical artist, composer, producer Jamaaladeen Tacuma has been compelled by recent political events to make a strong statement of resistance in normalizing the values of the incoming President Elect . Jamaaladeen is gathering, artists, poets, spoken word artists and musicians along with inspirational speakers from activist and political organizations from Philadelphia. Philadelphia is the city where our democracy was born. It is the perfect place to make this very important statement and to inform and educate the public on how to channel their feelings of anxiety, fear and frustration into positive peaceful action. The concert takes place Friday January 20th 2017 at The Philadelphia Clef Club of Jazz 738 S Broad St, Philadelphia, PA 19146. Cost is $5.
