The Unscripted Jazz Series welcomes the New Sound Brass Band, a Philadelphia-based band that mixes Funk, R&B, Gospel and Rock to make a sound that’s a fresh and soulful twist on music. The sound of this multi-cultural unit has been described as Philly Soul spoken through brass. The band's May 11 debut at SOUTH will be part of the “Big Brass Weekend”, a celebration of the instruments that started the jazz revolution. The New Sound Brass Band connects the rich past with a bold future.
