On August 20, we are bringing the islands to you! Join us for the 37th Annual Philadelphia Caribbean Festival for a day full of island culture.

A rich celebration of 14 Caribbean islands will treat you to a wholesome family fun in a beautiful atmosphere with a line up of authentic island sounds of reggae, roots international beat, hip-hop and gospel, poetry, island skits and creative on-stage dances, the pulsating sound of the steel band; all that’s complimented by a marketplace of Caribbean fashions, souvenirs, arts and craft. additionally, a “tings” Caribbean workshop; and a children’s corner with exciting things to do.

Fragrant Aromas will surround the great plaza at Penn’s landing as vendors prepare a variety of island cuisine-jerk chicken and rice/peas, curried goat/chicken, codfish cakes, escovitched fish and “festival” bakes, roti, Caribbean slaw, Roasted corn, to name a few. While quenching your thirst with Island Lemonade, Ginger Beer, Coconut Water, Island punch in a dugout pineapple, you name it.

Featured performers include Kenny Sykes (Jazz), Julius (Soca), Tabernacle Reggae Band, Freedom Choir of Phila Ensemble (Gospel), Riddem Nation Band (Roots Rock Reggae), Bahamian Juliene Believe (Soca) Haitian Gwo Koze (Kompo music, WeUnited Band (Soca) Image Band (internationally known, from Washington, D.C.). MC for this special day will be DJ Scripture (WKDU 91.7 FM) who opens up with Devotional Remarks.

Ardmore Rock N' Ride is a community fundraising event, benefiting Narberth Ambulance Emergency Services. This free, outdoor, family friendly event features an official USA Cycling bike race, a multi-stage concert featuring nationally renowned talent produced by Ardmore Music Hall, a youth bike race, and a family fun zone. The event will also highlight Ardmore's amazing business community, both small businesses and those associated with Suburban Square.

In 2023, we hope to fundraise $300K for Narberth Ambulance. The encore event will build upon last year‘s success which attracted over 7,500 attendees from the Greater Philadelphia Region and The Main Line. 100% of net proceeds will benefit Narberth Ambulance, and ensure our community has access to life saving 911 services provided by highly trained professionals with state-of-the-art equipment

El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico is a popular Puerto Rican band widely known as El Gran Combo. The band played their first show in San Juan in 1962 and became the island’s most popular salsa group. The band’s style of music has evolved through the past several decades. Ranging from boogaloo and merengue to tango and bomba.

The group creates lively arrangements for piano, bass, trumpets, saxophone, congas, timbales, and bongos. With catchy dance tunes such as “El Menu,” “Telefono” and “Goyito Sabater.” Their most popular song, “Brujeria” has over 50 million streams on Spotify. In 2002, the band received a Lifetime Achievement Award from Billboard.

The group celebrated a half-century together with 50 Aniversario, Vol. 1, their debut for EGC records. Three-quarters of the album are re-recorded songs from the entirety of the band’s career. The album placed in the Top Ten of Top Latin Albums. The album then hit number four on the Top Latin Albums chart.

The Northern California native has had the opportunity to be a member of the New York Youth Symphony large jazz ensemble for the 2021-2022 season, having had the opportunity to play at iconic New York venues such as Birdland, Dizzy’s Club, National Sawdust and The New York Times Center. Cameron has worked under and alongside artists such as Melissa Aldana, Shenel Johns, Benny Benack III, Mike Boone, and Mike Moreno.
