In celebration of our history, share stories about how dance and drum culture helped in making it through a transition, trial or shift in your life.

Note: This is NOT a performance-- it's a gathering of community members, sharing stories to explore common values.

No storytelling experience necessary.

Facilitated and Moderated by Jos Duncan of GriotWorks

Donations are welcomed.

Any elders in the Philadelphia African Cultural Community interested in sharing their stories, inbox or email Jos. Elders will receive a FREE video taping of their stories and shared wisdom (if requested)!!

The Community Education Center is a nonprofit performing arts center and artists incubator space. The Center is known and respected by artists and audiences alike for its support of the local arts community and its presentations of outstanding dance and performance. The Center also offers the community opportunities to explore their creativity through classes in the performing arts as well as performance opportunities.

GRIOTWORKS' mission is to bring communities together through the production of storytelling-based mixed media projects.
