South Street kicks off Philly's summer festival season with a totally free, all day, all-ages celebration of the city's best sights, sounds, tastes and sips. There will be tons of surprises this year - don't miss out.
Festivities will take over South Street between Front and 8th Streets, plus continue onto 2nd Street Plaza between South and Pine. All activities are FREE and open to the public. Food and drink are pay-as-you-go. Rain or shine! #SouthStFest
HIGHLIGHTS:
* 40 bands rocking three stages and seven performance areas
* 30+ restaurants/bars serving outside
* 125+ boutiques and businesses catering to your style and shopping needs
* Dozens of artists selling their handmade wares
LAWN CONCERT:
Headhouse Plaza will again be transformed with real grass, lawn chairs, games, beach balls and, of course, rocking tunes.
MAIFEST:
In conjunction with the Festival, Brauhaus Schmitz will host the third annual German Maifest on the 700 block of South Street, with German beers, dancers, music, food, flower headbands and even a Maypole.
FREE COMIC BOOK DAY:
Outside of Atomic City Comics (638 South Street) look for free giveaways and character appearances during Free Comic Book Day.
FAMILY FUN:
Children of all ages will enjoy free family fun in the expanded Kids Zone.
