August 9, 2016 6:00-8:00 PM Community Drum Circle in Mt. Airy

AND WE'RE BAAAAACK!
Drum Circles for Veterans will be THIS COMING TUESDAY
(and every 2nd Tuesday of the month).
Why? Why? Why the hell do we we do...what is it we do again?
A "Drum Circle" is a gathering of people playing rhythm instruments (not always just drums) for a purpose. Throughout history those puposes have been recreational, ceremonial (weddings, funerals, civic), and now, therapeutic.
Research and evidence have SHOWN (not just suggested) the connection between community drumming and wellness.
Drumming makes us feel better. PERIOD!

As an Army Vet, I've connected my passion for drumming
(my license plate says DRUMGUY) with the need for a way for fellow veterans, AND THOSE WHO LOVE AND SUPPORT THEM to relieve stress in a fun, safe space, while teaching non-vets about life in the military.
You do not need to be, or even bring a Vet to join in the circle.
We amplify our positive intentions, and educate those willing to learn with the unique sounds and rhythms we play, and conversations surrounding monthly themes.

Malelani Cafe, 6734 Germantown Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19119
Tuesday, August 9th, 6-8 p.m. (and every 2nd Tuesday of the month).
