One of the most popular saxophonists of all time, Grover Washington, Jr., long set the pace for innovation in his field. Though his sound is rooted in R&B and soul-jazz, he is also known for the infrequent occasions when he played straight-ahead jazz. The Tony Miceli Ensemble will bring the music of Grover Washington, Jr., to life at the Barnes, featuring Tony Miceli on vibraphone, Doc Gibbs on percussion, Micah Jones on bass, Chris Farr on sax, Kevin Hanson on guitar, Butch Reed on drums, and Tiffany Jones on vocals.
Music sets: 6 – 7:15 pm; 8 – 9 pm
