Afro-Brazilian Percussion Series with Dende Macedo Learn to play Afro-Brazilian percussion on timbau, caixa, surdo, pandeiro, bacurinha and tamborim first hand with a former member of Timbalada! Dendê will teach you the original rhythms and breaks from bands like Timbalada, Ilê Aiyê and Olodum, as well as traditional rhythms from samba de roda and candomble. Each class will include proper technique, exercises, tuning and maintenance, call and response, improvisations and soloing.
