Tuesday April 9th
8:15 GreenDuo
9:15 V. Shayne Frederick
"GreenDuo was born of a spontaneous meeting on a Green Street roof deck in North Philadelphia. The combination of clarinet, accordion, zampogna (Italian bagpipe) presents harmonious and rhythmic complexities and allows a repertoire culled from myriad and diverse musical idioms- English pop to Brazilian choro, Argentine tango to musette-jazz and waltz- with constant references to Italian folk tradition.
What they are is a lot of fun. Artful, witty, supremely talented, and- above all- fun."
Daniel Choi, clarinet
Antonello DiMatteo, accordion and zampogna
