For more than three decades, Philly Gumbo, Philadelphia’s finest groove band, has been thrilling audiences with a unique, dance-inducing mix of New Orleans R & B, funk, blues, soul and reggae.
Let by the powerhouse vocals of India Rex, the band has shared the stage with such legends as Dr. John, Buddy Guy & Jr. Wells, Rick Danko & Levon Helm of The Band, The Mighty Diamonds and many more. A Philly Gumbo show is just like being at JazzFest, highlighted by Mardi Gras anthems such as “Iko Iko,” “Hey Pocky Way”, “Big Chief”, “Mardi Gras Mambo,” “I Done Got Over” and others.
