Inspired by the voices of our ancestors, Kulu Mele African Dance & Drum Ensemble presents and preserves the traditional dance and music of Africa, and throughout the African Diaspora. For this in-community workshop, Kulu Mele will meld the stylings of traditional African dance with the innovation and energy of hip-hop for an unbelievable, family-friendly dance experience.
This program is presented as part of the African American Museum in Philadelphia's summer-long celebration, PhilAesthetic: The African American Museum in Philadelphia Celebrates the Black Arts Movement.
