January 19, 2019 1:00-8:00PM Lunar New Year Festival at Penn Museum with Kyo Daiko

Chinese New Year Dragons
Get ready to roll in the Lunar New Year with a vibrant daytime festival and evening performances at the Penn Museum. In many Asian communities around the world, the Lunar New Year is among the most important and festive holidays of the year. This family-friendly day features traditional dance and music, contemporary Asian film, tangram workshops, martial arts demonstrations, storytelling, calligraphy, and art-making for all ages. Join in the traditional Lion Dance, then grab a cocktail as the festival kicks into high gear with Korean pop music, and performances to ring in the new year. Food and drink will be available for purchase. Presented in partnership with the Asian Arts Initiative.

 Family-friendly activities (1:00 pm - 5:00 pm) are free with Museum admission. 
Evening festival activities (5:00 pm - 8:00 pm) are $15; members, $10.

During the current shutdown of the federal government, general admission is FREE for furloughed government employees with valid ID and up to five of their family members.
