Regarding the concert tonight, Francois Zayas says "The work that I will present is a body of original compositions from my upcoming recording. The music is a reflection of what I have lived, experienced or have been exposed to, emotionally and musically in the last three years. Every song is an attempt to blend AfroCuban musical forms like rumba or makuta with jazz or any other world musical tradition by mutual assimilation, without borders between one and the other so the tune is unique and outside any label."

Columbian-born Luke O’Reilly takes the Bride’s stage with an onslaught of local talent playing straight ahead, R&B-inspired pieces while Cuban percussionist-composer Francois Zayas follows up with his flavorful amalgam of modern jazz and Afro-Cuban beats. Both O’Reilly and Zayas offer jazz truly unique to any music genre.
