"WHEN VOICES MEET" - About the Film:
In Feb 2013, Filmmaker Chris Newhard will be traveling to South Africa with Sharon Katz and The Peace Train to create a moving film about the last 20 years of this wonderful group. Our trip to make this film will require a lot of funding, but the end result will be worth every penny. We are going to pull out the raw emotion and reality of South Africa, and capture the energy of it all the best we can.
The documentary will be entitled "When Voices Meet", a powerful film title taken from the title of Sharon Katz's first Peace Train performance sharing the same name. A true statement, none the less, as this documentary will take voices from across the globe, and unite them for a full feature length film.
The Impact of it all:
This film is about a woman who helped South Africa find its path to peace and human rights, but more importantly it's a story of standing up for what is right. Human equality, human freedom, and peace on earth need to be a priority, and Sharon Katz has spent the last 20 years supporting that cause with The Peace Train.
During Apartheid, a country was torn apart through segregation, rascism, and violence. This film will show you the true power of love, peace and human resillience.
