February 24, 2014 6:00-7:00 PM New Dance Class "Rhythm and Body" for Women Only at Raices Culturales Latinoamericanas

Want to learn how to dance? Do you easily lose your sense of rhythm? Come on over!

Learn through distinct musical rhythms how to move your body, create a choreography, exercise, and have fun! Musical numbers will include belly dancing, pop, disco, rock, etc.

This class is designed to help students enjoy music through the movements your body is capable of.


REQUIREMENTS

Punctuality (Preferably 15 Minutes Early)
Comfy Clothes (No Jeans) Socks
Age: 9 to 70 years old are welcome
Women Only
Cost: $12 a class

Class Goal: Form a dance fusion group.

Veronica Ponce de Leon is a dance professional in folkloric Mexican music who has been teaching for over 20 years. Recently arrived to Philadelphia, Ponce de Leon has been holding classes since 2011 in locations such as Taller Puertorriqueño, Portside Arts Center, and Concilio. The dance style of Ponde de Leon involves including all the varying musical styles that surround us today. Ponce de Leon has focused on teaching students on how to have rhythm, create choreography, and how to dance without preoccupying themselves on being 'professional'.
