FIRST FRIDAY! ARTISTS ON SITE
Join us for the East coast’s first taste of Flash, a dance theater duet written, choreographed, and performed by hip-hop artist Rennie Harris and butoh (Japanese dance theater) artist Michael Sakamoto. Hip-hop and butoh were born from urban subcultures in the postwar era, and embody a philosophical approach to the creation of cultural identity through dance. In partnership with the Painted Bride.

The evening includes an educational talk on the significance of bringing practicing artists into the classroom as well as access to the collection and the William Glackens exhibition.
