THE JAM JAWN is an open jam session series, produced by the percussive minds of Drum Like a Lady that features Philadelphia's finest musical artisans as "The Conductor of the Jam". There is no sign-up sheet and no cover for the jam, as ALL are encouraged to bring their voices, lyrics, instruments and signature grooves to collaborate in the creation of wildly imaginative, improvisational soundscapes.
About our featured Conductor:
Ol MacDah is the contemporary alter ego of emerging jazz artist Dahi Divine that displays his level of talent as an instrumentalist, musician, writer, emcee, producer, and composer. His aesthetic is rooted in the sounds of Hip-Hop, coupled with rich soulful melodies of classic R&B, the energy found in Rock and wavy movement all blended with the virtuosic arrangements found only in jazz. OlmacDah is the bridge that brings all the knowlege of a studied jazz musician and composer to the world of hip hop and R&B.
