September 29, 2016 7:00-10:00 PM Exuberance: Studies in Melody, Harmony, and Rhythm with the Arturo Stable Trio

From Matt Yaple:
Two years ago, as @exuberance began construction at 1220 Mascher, Arturo shared with me his idea for a piano trio album with pairings of different pianists and bassists on each track. I offered that perhaps this South Kensington space could eventually provide the piano, the acoustics and the rapt audience to help make such a vision feasible.

Our Steinway B is beautiful. If you’ve been here for our Sumi Tonooka and Mike Cemprola programs, you know the acoustics here are divine. And the audiences for both events could not have been more attentive or encouraging.

Enter Arturo Stable—a brilliant, engaging, astonishing artist. Deft, devastating Cuban percussionist. Swinging-as-all-hell jazz drummer. Soaringly lyrical composer. His albums are strings of jewels.

Joining Arturo for this evening are the estimable Luke Carlos O’Reilly on piano and Nimrod Speaks on bass. Those of you who know Arturo's work will be here. If you haven’t had the pleasure, please accept this invitation to get in on the start of something very special:
