Brazilian choro music represents the coming together of European melodic and harmonic traditions with
African rhythms and sensibilities. Sometimes described as the cousin of jazz, it features romantic melodies set to an irresistible groove and rhythmic momentum that is uniquely Brazilian.
In the workshop, you will study five tunes with Rogério from the choro repertoire representing a variety of rhythmic styles: choro, samba, bossa, and maxixe.
All string, wind, brass, and percussion instrumentalists are encouraged to participate.
