Most recently, the multi-faceted Uribe put together a smaller ensemble that highlights his songwriting and the presence of the accordion. This new format differs from the big band in its more compact size and organic style. However it stays true to its leader's danceable rhythm. Having introduced this new music in latest tour, which included Brown University, Gregorio Uribe is currently in the process of recording his next self-composed album.
Gregorio has been a guest artist with Latin icon Carlos Vives on several occasions including Madison Square Garden. He was also named by the government of Colombia as one of the "100 most successful Colombians abroad"
