March 24, 2017 7:30-10:00PM Cecilia Zabata at Cheltenham Art Center

We had such a blast playing with Cecilia last time, that we thought we'd add one final concert to her US tour from Argentina. She returns to the US from Argentina every two years for a wild series of concerts. Her compositions are playfully haunting, the kind that stay in your head and keep you from sleep. Her guitar playing is worldclass--she first toured the states as part of the prestigious International Guitar Tour! And her singing is the perfect vehicle for her musical thoughts. Her music blends Argentinian folklore, contemporary jazz and classical into a rich amalgam of emotion, technique and intuition.

Tonight she'll be joined by Kevin MacConnell, who has performed with such jazz legends as Mel Torme, Nancy Wilson, Billy Ecstine, Joe Williams, local superheros The Jost Project,
Natalie Cole and opera diva, Denyce Graves.

Ken Ulansey, on soprano and alto sax, is a Penn Council for the Arts winner. He has played classical music with Relache at Lincoln Center, Brazilian with Minas, jazz with his own award-winning band and folk music with countless local and national luminaries, all while leading his "Best of Philly" wedding band.

On drums will be Conner Setzer, who's brilliance in groove, drive and sensitivity has been capturing the attention of the Philly music community.

Tickets are only $12 in advance at https://whirledmusic.ticketleap.com/cz/details; $20 at the door, $15 for students.
