Spruce Hill’s annual community-building event, the May Fair, will be held this year on Saturday, May 13, in Clark Park.

DUE TO A WEATHER FORECAST OF RAIN ALL DAY, THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELED

This event will feature a day of music by local groups, food from some of the top vendor trucks, and a bounce tent and obstacle course for youngsters.
Music Schedule:
10:30 Ants on a Log
11:30 Evan Cory Levine
12:30 Mixed People
1:30 Bitters and Rye
2:30 Drum Like a Lady

The UC Arts League will be at the fair to celebrate its 50th year, and will have tables where anyone can come and create a work of art that will be displayed that day.

There will be lots of bargains in the terrific used book sale, a plant sale by the University City Garden Club, and the usual raffle with lots of prizes from local merchants and top prizes by University Pinball.

As usual, there will be vendors selling jewelry, pottery and other crafts, along with local groups doing community outreach and getting out the word about their causes.

All parties who had a table at the fair in the last three years should have received an invitation to this year’s event in the mail and should return it promptly with their registration fee.

This year, the fair has a special deal for beginning West Philly artists and crafts persons wondering what it would be like to have a table at a public event like the May Fair. If this is their first time out, they can have a table for only $25 for the day.

For more information about vending at the fair, leave a message at 215-349-7825 or email mayfairvending@gmail.com.
The fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the section of the park at 43rd and Chester Avenue. There is no rain date.
