Open Hand:
Brazilian percussion plus half a string quartet equals a unique, danceable sound. Three surdo drums are overlaid with the versatile and surprisingly deep Brazilian pandeiro, the talkative repinique, and the punctuating snare; rich melodies from the cello and violin/mandolin and tight, three-part vocal harmonies combine into a four-piece lineup never before seen on Earth. Song topics range from tiny pockets to worldly advice.
Doors open at 8PM; show at 9PM
