Odunde Festival Presents Owambe 2017
For the 7th year running, OWAMBE will deliver the rhythms of Africa while also highlighting its global influence. Owambe is the Yoruba word for a street party in Nigeria, like a block party in Philly taken to the next level!!!! TROPICALISMO MUNDIAL, Worldtown, and Sonic Diaspora join forces annually to bring you this one-of-a-kind outdoor event.

We're making it a friends and family affair this year by inviting some of our favorite peeps and selectors to share the decks with us and show you their #African sounds and finesse. Special guest DJs this year will include DJ DuiJi 13, Desmond Rocdaspot West, Gabe Carryon (aka DJ Nat TurnerTables), David Adams (lil'dave), Argo Nomics & Alexes Johnson (Argo & Lexx), Kavyn Choe (Orlando, FL)
Every year the dancers that come out surprise us with their moves from 4 year olds getting down to 70 year olds who forgot they needed to hold on to the cane. Come check out the colorful outfits, eat some tasty food, listen to the beautiful blend of sounds, and get sweaty dancing at one of #Philly's best street parties.
The Odunde African Heritage Festival is Philly's premier cultural event of the summer, bringing tens of thousands of people to 12 city blocks in Graduate Hospital. Celebrating Africa and the African diaspora, Odunde is filled with music, dancers, performers, vendors, colors, and food.
