Percussionist Shakoor Sanders and guest musicians set to perform a traditional Ceremonial Oro Guiro for South Philly Barbacoa’s new Italian Market location, ​El Compadre

On Tuesday, June 27th, percussionist Shakoor Sanders will unite with Bembesito, Emory Damon, and special guests for a traditional ceremony celebrating the new location of South Philly Barbacoa, which will merge with their sister restaurant ​El Compadre, located at 1149 S. 9th Street.

“This event will mark a new transition in Ben and Cristina’s journey,” says Sanders. “We will send positive energy to the new space, open the roads to success, and ask the ancestors to guide them.”

The celebration will begin at 7 PM. This event is open to the general public and media. All guests are asked to attend in white attire.
